Concrete cooperation, social effectiveness and strengthening of the reputation of UKLO are some of the effects that alumni provide as a bridge with the business community and the broader context.
The absolute truth that the strength of the higher education institutions lies in the networking of the alumni whose successful professional careers are correlated with the business world, was confirmed at the latest meeting.
According to the rector, Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, the alumni are the punching fist of universities, they are the face of the university in practice. The connection with their development can best be effected through the faculties. They are the core of alumni and the initial professional identification. He believes that the interaction of the alumni and the professors should also include current students, in order to achieve the desired effects.
The event was an opportunity to showcase the genesis of the UKLO alumni club, the incorporation of a new module into the IKnow system for quantitative and qualitative enrichment of the alumni base, which was addressed by Dr. Goce Markoski from the UKLO Credo Center.
Prof. Dr. Mimoza Jovanovska Bogdanovska, head of the collaborative space, CoSpace – a place for the exchange of ideas, cooperation and connection between the academia and the collaborators from the business, civil, government and educational sectors, spoke about the additional links of mutual networking and the opportunities for specific activities of alumni, whose references strengthen the reputation of UKLO. Regarding the concept supported by the management of UKLO aimed at intensifying the activities to date, she emphasized that UKLO alumni, in addition to being a connecting bridge with the business world, through the collaborative space are also involved in fulfilling the vision of UKLO – making the University recognizable through its alumni.
Prof. Dr. Renata Petrovska Nechkoska, academic director of COLOURS, spoke about the European University Alliance COLOURS, of which UKLO is a part, from the perspective of building a European university of the future. Pointing out the initial, infrastructural profiling of the Alliance, she emphasized the openness of COLOURS, with numerous opportunities for broad incorporation of alumni. Everyone, and especially every alumnus, according to their vocation, expertise and personal performance, can join the University and the community, with concrete practice or mentorship, to advance the competencies of younger colleagues, to build a new broader social approach that is the essence of the universe of the COLOURS Alliance.
The event, which took place on December 20, 2024, was attended by numerous academic staff, current and former students whose alumni experiences are expected to be incorporated into the activities of the UKLO Credo Center and UKLO COLOURS CoSpace, organizers of the event.
