With the support of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Toledo hosted the National Erasmus Games, an event organised by Erasmus Student Network Spain (ESN Spain) which brought together more than 200 international students. The Vice-Rector for International Policy and Global Partnerships, Raúl Martín, welcomed the participants.
In his speech he underlined the UCLM’s commitment to academic mobility and intercultural understanding within the framework of the COLOURS alliance, which encourages the holding of this type of event.
The trials, qualifiers for the International Erasmus Games to be held in Milan (Italy), have been disputed in the modalities of athletics, football, volleyball and basketball 3×3, with teams made up of people of different gender and nationality.
The local ESN UCLM team participated in several disciplines, with an outstanding presence in athletics. In the men’s 1,000-metre race, the team came third behind ESN Baleares and ESN Sevilla. In football, the team came fourth, behind ESN Madrid, Valencia UPV and Bilbao.
