On Friday, 26 September 2025, COLOURS European University Alliance will take part in the celebrations of the European Day of Languages, an initiative launched by the Council of Europe and the European Commission in 2001 to promote language learning and cultural diversity among European citizens.
Across the Alliance, partners are preparing a wide range of activities designed for students, academic and research staff, and administrative and technical personnel. These initiatives highlight the value of multilingualism as a driver of communication, mobility, employability, and cultural exchange in today’s interconnected world.
As part of this effort, the Alliance has developed a dedicated set of resources and the video “A World of Languages”, created by the COLOURS working group on languages and cultures. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of COLOURS partner universities in Germany, Croatia, North Macedonia, Poland, Sweden, Latvia, Italy, France, and Spain to promoting linguistic diversity and intercultural understanding.
With this, COLOURS Alliance reaffirms its mission to bring languages closer to university life and to celebrate Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
