Youth Assembly for Just Transition Formed

With the support of friends at the University of St. Kliment Ohridski” – Bitola, Youth Cultural Center – Bitola and ECO Svest – Skopje, a Youth Assembly for Just Transition was being formed at UKLO. It includes about 15 students from the University’s units.

The Assembly is going to operate within the framework of the University Hub for Triple Transition, formed at UKLO, as part of the European University Alliance COLOURS, with the possibility of involving secondary school students and young people from the civil sector in the region.

– In the hub, young people will be able to work on various initiatives and ideas that will then be transferred to decision-makers on local and national levels, emphasizes the Vice-Rector Jasmina Bunevska Talevska.

According to the participants, the intention is to include local stakeholders, and especially young people, in what is being done at the central level, in terms of the energy transition and the economic development of the region.

At the event, which was held thanks to the KREDO Center at UKLO, presentations related to sustainable development, just transition, the role of the municipality in the energy transition, in addition to the Vice-Rector Jasmina Bunevska Talevska, were also delivered by the academic head of UKLO COLOURS, Prof. Dr. Renata Petrevska Nechkoska, Prof. Dr. Natasha Mojsoska and Emilija Sarafska.

Boris Gushevski, a student from the Faculty of Technical Sciences – Bitola, also addressed the attendees. He expressed his beliefs that the formation of the Youth Assembly for Just Transition is an opportunity for young people to become active and become actors in the development of green awareness. The event was held on May 12, 2025 at the premises of SIC of UKLO.
