The event will take place in Toledo on May 19–20 and can be followed both in person and online.

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) will organize a CoLab on active and healthy ageing on May 19 and 20 at the University Hospital of Toledo. The initiative will bring together experts, public institutions, businesses, civil society, and students to foster dialogue on this shared challenge across the alliance’s regions.

Under the title Healthy and Active Ageing in the context of COLOURS University Alliance: actors and challenges, the CoLab will provide a space for joint reflection and action on the challenges of ageing. It will adopt a multidisciplinary and intersectoral approach, focusing on sharing experiences, identifying best practices, and proposing joint strategies to improve the quality of life of older adults.

Key topics will include public health, social services, and urban planning. The programme features discussion panels that will address how public policies can better support the autonomy and well-being of older people. It will also explore their involvement in decisions about their healthcare and support, the use of technology to enhance independence and health outcomes, effective communication of their needs and contributions, intergenerational cooperation, and the economic opportunities linked to the Silver Economy.

The event, which can be followed both in person and online, will include project presentations, roundtables, and workshops with the participation of representatives from the alliance’s member universities.
