As part of the Action Weeks Against Racism in Paderborn 2026, the European University Alliance COLOURS invites you to a panel discussion with Q&A on Tuesday, 17 March 2026. The event will explore how universities and academic communities can respond to far-right tendencies on campus and in research. The discussion is organised by the Centre for Gender Studies at Paderborn University, in cooperation with Dr. Larissa Eikermann, Vice Dean for Sustainability, Gender Equality and Diversity at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Central Equal Opportunities Officer, Dr. Annika Hegemann.
The evening will open with a keynote by Dr. habil. Lukas Otterspeer (Europa-Universität Flensburg) on “Right-Wing Populism and Extremism at Universities.”
Following the lecture, experts from academia and university practice will exchange perspectives and discuss strategies for action: Dr. Isabelle Leitloff, UPB’s CIO-Lead of the European University Alliance COLOURS, Marie Lampe, AStA Officer for Political Education, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Naciye Kamcili-Yildiz, Paderborn Institute for Islamic Theology (PIIT), and Dr. Sevda Can Arslan, Institute of Media Studies, Paderborn University. The panel discussion will be moderated by Matthias Zimoch from the Anti-Discrimination Service (ADA) of the Caritas Association Paderborn e.V.
