Kristianstad University, in collaboration with the European University Alliance COLOURS, hosted a dynamic series of events from October 1-3, 2024, focusing on sustainable food production. Coinciding with the renowned Spot on Food conference, the event brought together researchers, students, and industry leaders to explore innovative solutions for the future of food supply.
The Spot on Food conference, organised by Krinova Incubator & Science Park and Kristianstad Municipality, spotlighted sustainability in food supply. This year, COLOURS joined as a key partner, marking the beginning of broader collaborations at local, regional, and international levels.
The event kicked off with Food Hack 2024, a three-day hackathon where 30 participants, including students from gastronomy and computer science programs, worked on reimagining sustainable food management. Researchers from North Macedonia, Poland, and France shared their insights and research, enriching the exchange of ideas on sustainable food practices. Participants also had the opportunity to visit local food companies as part of a field study, expanding their understanding of real-world challenges and solutions.
By hosting events like this, Kristianstad University and COLOURS are paving the way for groundbreaking research and solutions in food sustainability, bridging education, innovation, and real-world impact.
